Ballinhassig 1-0 Cobh Ramblers
Ramblers opened their season with a narrow defeat away to newly promoted
Ballinhassig. Ramblers started well with Mary Mc Donnell and Orianna Mc Grath
linking play down the right side and creating a number of goal scoring
opportunities but unfortunately to no avail. however as the half developed
the young Ballinhassig side gained in confidence and the game became very
evenly contested. the second half was of a similar pattern until its 70th min
when a cross from Ballinhassig left winger was not cleared and their centre
forward poked the ball into the net. for the last twenty minutes Ramblers
besieged the Hassig goal forcing a number of corners but eventually time ran
out and Ballinhassig playing their first ever Premier Division match too all 3 points.
