Ramblers 6-0 Limerick 37
A League Cobh Ramblers -vs- Limerick 37 St.Colmans Park 08-Oct-08
With UCD already established a unassailable points lead in the section, Rams set out to garner as many points as possible in their remaining games. In welcoming Limerick 37 to the Cobh light Rams fielded a strong side. Indeed before the Rams full coaching personnel had emerged from the dressing room the team was 2 goals to the good with Conor Meade finding the minute in the opening minute, and Sean Daly headed home goal number two within another minute. On eight minutes Martin Deady hit a post with a fine effort. Meade hit his second and Cobh’s third in the 3rd minute, and completed his hattrick when he finished off a neat one-two with Ian Stapleton. In between Alan Burns in the Cobh goal saw a Limerick effort hit the post on 39mins, and then produced a fantastic double save to prevent Limericks Scott Hurley scoring. Leading 4-0 at half time Rams continued to move the ball quick and accurate during the second half and added two further goals through Spillane and Daly (his second) to run out comfortable 6-0 winners in the night. Limerick 37 for their part never threw in the towel and despite losing 2 of their defence through injury continued to search for scores throughout the second half.
